Deacon Harry and Jane Moore

I was born in Dillingham Alaska. The youngest of 6 children and the only boy, my family spent time homesteading near the village of Kokanok and lived in Naknek before moving to Seattle in the late sixties. We still returned to Bristol Bay every summer to commercial fish and it was there that I met my wife Jane in 1984. We married in 1986, have raised three children, and recently became grandparents. I was ordained a Deacon in May 2009 and since then have been serving St. Michael’s Parish and the parishes of Talkeetna, Trapper Creek, and King Salmon with communion services as needed. At St. Michael’s I work alongside Joanne in the RCIA, help couples prepare for marriage in the Catholic Church, train altar servers, and every third Saturday of the month you will find me sharing faith and stories at our men’s prayer breakfast. I also serve as the Chaplain for Catholic Scouting in the Archdiocese. Jane and I have made Palmer our home since 1992 and have found this to be a wonderful place to raise our family. My full time employment is with the State of Alaska Department of Corrections. I really enjoy peddling my Fat Tire bicycle around the Matanuska Valley. Perhaps we can meet on the trail, share in a prayer, and break bread together.
