Rev. Mr. Kevin Klump

My five siblings and I were born to our parents and raised by them in Anchorage, Alaska. Family life was full of adventures; but, my parents, Dr. Philip and Maureen Klump, managed to provide us with an excellent education at Holy Rosary Academy in midtown. The greatest treasure of my childhood is the religious education that my father, in particular, handed on (n.b. tradition means ‘that which is handed down’—a person-to-person dynamic) to me: many times he would take me with him to adore the LORD God Sabaoth at Blessed Sacrament Monastery and at our parish, Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton. There is nothing so convicting for a young child as to see his father kneeling down in bent adoration before the LORD Himself. This coupled with the interior life developed at Holy Rosary Academy kept me alive in the spiritual famine which I would encounter in the public school system (10th through 12th grade) and later on in college. It is THE SON OF GOD, THE LORD JESUS EUCHARISTED, upon Whom I would rely on during these difficult times. During my first year of college, I was called by God to pursue studies for the Priesthood. I have been on this journey for the past nine years (in Saint Paul, Minnesota) and am now in my pastoral year under our reverend pastor, Pastor Michael Shields.
